About us / Who we are / Our Horses

Shanter Riding Centre is a friendly, family run facility, set in the
most wonderful environment, offering a fantastic view on the sea.

Shanter Riding Centre offers a high standard of riding and horse-
manship; we are affiliated to the Trekking & Riding Society for
Scotland
and also work closely with the Ayrshire and Arran Tourist Board.

Maidens is a beautiful little coastal village with a lovely long sandy
beach and grass foreshore. It is located at the southern end of
Maidenhead Bay 2 miles north of Turnberry and 5 miles west of Maybole.
To the north of the beach is Culzean Castle and Estate, built in 1777
by the architect Robert Adam, it is owned and maintained by the
National Trust and is considered to be one of Scotland's treasures.

The village is extremely popular and has two caravan parks and many day-trippers come to enjoy the beach area, the car parking, landscaped picnic area and equipped play area.

Based on the beautiful coastline of Ayrshire, looking out across the Firth of Clyde, to the isle of Arran and the mull of Klintyre. Shanter Riding Centre is a typical Scottish farm and it´s name is hailed from the Tam o shanter of the famous Burns poem.
